Dove Watercolor Painting By Brenda Williams

Momma's Moment In Time

Unable to go too far.

Too painful to ride in the car.

Closed in from side to side,

oh how I wish I could take a ride.

The simplest pleasure is mine,

I go out to my porch to dine.

To watch the birds is my delight,

but my cat only wants to put them to flight.

One day as I was sitting down,

a white dove to my side did come.

I said to him, you can't stay long.

For my cat will soon come to play

his song.

But at my side he did stay.

He was willing to keep me company.

He sat for the longest time.

And then flew off as if to say,

he did no crime.

A song did come to me then.

From the tendrils of my memories.

On the wings of a snow white dove,

He sends his pure sweet love.

It was then that I knew,

how the white dove flew.

It was plain for me to see,

how the Lord sent this simple

message to me.

He has not forgotten where I am at.

My heart is lifted up as I continue

 to sing the melody.

I then turn my head just in time.

That silly cat thinks he's got those birds

right on the dime.

Be still and know that I am God.
