A New Friendship

A new friendship I do perceive,

developing between the likes of you and me.

Like the delicate wild flowers blooming in early spring.

Our new friendship will have a joyful ring.

Overnight, hidden among the grass,

they bloom and blanket across yards and fields.

You catch a glimpse here and there,

along roadsides and the most unexpected places.

Yet they show their blossoming little faces.

In and out among life's trials,

our new friendship will still blossom and bloom.

As the opening greetings to the new season.

The Lord is the one directing our paths.

And along the way,

He graces each one of us with another soul,

To encourage each other and pray to be made whole.

Ah!  Such is our new journey together in friendship.
